Upgrade Policy

Upgrading From a Lease:

If you are on a lease (or previously had a lease) and want to upgrade to the Purchased License, MotiveWave will put up to a maximum of 6 months' worth of lease payments (6 Monthly Lease payments, or two cycles of the 3-Month Auto-Renewing Lease, or one 6 Month Lease payment) that you paid, not including any discounts, taxes or currency conversions, towards an upgrade to the Purchased License of the edition you leased, or towards a higher edition Purchased License. You would only need to pay the remaining difference between the regular-priced Purchased License cost and your qualifying lease payments.

If you purchased your lease during a sale, that sale discount is not locked in as a discount on the Purchased License - that sale discount only applies to your lease.

If there happens to be a sale on at the time you want to upgrade from your lease to the Purchased License, Sales can give you that current sale discount on the remaining difference between the regular-priced Purchased License cost and your qualifying lease payments.

The upgrade from the lease to the Purchased License must be created manually by Sales before you'll be able to upgrade.

Please contact Sales to have them calculate what your exact upgrade cost will be. They can then create the upgrade for you, as well as cancel the auto-renewing subscription on your lease (if you are on the Monthly or 3-Month Auto Renewing lease).

Upgrading From a Lower Edition Purchased License:

If you purchased a lower edition Purchased License and want to upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License, MotiveWave will put the cost of what you paid for the lower edition (not including any discounts, taxes or currency conversions) towards an upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License.

Within 1 Year of Purchasing the Purchased License

If you are upgrading to a higher edition within 1 year of the purchase of your Purchased License, you would only need to pay the remaining difference between the regular-priced higher edition Purchased License and the cost of what you paid for your lower edition Purchased License (not including any discounts, taxes or currency conversions).

1 Year (or More) After Purchasing the Purchased License

If it has been more than 1 year since the purchase of your Purchased License, you must be active on support and updates before you can upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License. If your support and updates has expired, you will need to purchase the optional Additional 1 Year of Updates and Support for your current edition before you can upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License (see our Products page to purchase Updates and Support).

If you purchased your Purchased License during a sale, that sale discount is not locked in for an upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License.

If there happens to be a sale on at the time you want to upgrade to the higher edition Purchased License, Sales can give you that current sale discount on the remaining difference between the regular-priced higher edition Purchased License and the cost of what you paid for your lower edition Purchased License (not including any discounts, taxes or currency conversions).

The upgrade from the lower edition Purchased License to the higher edition Purchased License must be created manually by Sales before you'll be able to upgrade.

Please contact Sales to have them calculate what your exact upgrade cost will be. They can then create the upgrade for you.
